A Pastor's Heart

The heart of a Pastor should always reflect that of God: the Bible tells us: “..out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). So, before Jesus went away, he spoke from His heart, instructing His disciples to teach the nations about Him (Matthew 28:18-20). For, Jesus personifies life and without Him, life has no meaning.

Pastor Riggins desires to tell the world about Jesus Christ and the love that He has for us. He has been saved for over ten years and his passion for ministry is more evident now than ever before. He believes that because God is love, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ proves our love for others.

However, Pastor truly understands, with Godly leadership comes responsibility and great expectations: “..to whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48). Yet, he has grounded himself so deeply in the Word of God that His mind is fixed, he is focused, and he will not be moved because his confidence is in the Lord. He often shares: “If you ever want to be great in the Kingdom of God, learn how to serve.” He takes pleasure in being a blessing to others.

Paul wrote: “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” (Philippians 3:10). Pastor Riggins, too, desires that we may know Christ and will stop at nothing to teach the nations about of Him.
